“Lula City or Long View”

Town of Alto GA

The town of Alto is a rural town in the Northeast Georgia Blue Ridge mountains, located in Habersham County. Founded in 1877, Alto (previously known as “Lulah City” and “Long View”) was incorporated on December 16, 1895. The community straddles Habersham and Banks counties. The community name derives from the Italian term for “high,” for its elevation.
Thousands stop by Jaemor Farms on their way to and from a day in the mountains. This fifth generation farm offers farm fresh fruits and vegetables as well as fried pies, ice cream and boiled peanuts. Just picked strawberries in late spring can’t be beat, nor can pumpkins and a corn maze in the fall. Stop by and find out why it will become a favorite of your whole family.
